This doll was in my mom’s collection and had a hand written note between the slip and the bloomers. It read: Italian Doll; quentin,
Engwall; Dec 1944. My mom had brothers in WWII. My guess is that one of them sent it to her.
I am very impressed by the hand made lace on this doll. Both the matching lace on her bloomers and slip and the intricate patterns in her apron. The doll has a gold ribbon trim on her skirt and her vest. She has a mohair wig with a kerchief tied over it. Although I didn’t show it she has beige socks with felt shoes. Her clothing is sewn on. The doll is jointed at the shoulders. The doll is from a nonsmoking family. We do have a dog. Thank you for looking.
